Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 1374 p4p, 1264 weight class) and Shigeru Otori (ranked 153 p4p, 140 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of London, Shigeru Otori!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Richard Clark and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Otori.
Otori scores with a punch to the head.
Warrior swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Otori.
Otori fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Warrior takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Otori connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Otori keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Warrior tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Otori paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Otori looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Warrior misses with a takedown
and Otori counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Warrior takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Warrior closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Otori misses with a straight right.
Warrior tries to counter with a takedown but Otori is quick to defend against it.
Otori ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Warrior moves away.

Warrior shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Otori's guard.
We've been hearing that Warrior has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Warrior throws a strike but Otori rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.


Warrior is working an open guard so Otori takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Otori cracks Warrior with a right hand to the side of the head.

Warrior rushes Otori and presses him up against the cage.
Warrior can't get the takedown.

Warrior gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Otori regains guard.
Warrior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Otori swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Warrior is looking to work some ground and pound but Otori has wrist control.
Warrior connects with a couple of short punches.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Otori is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Otori felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Warrior closes the distance and clinches up with Otori, looking for a takedown. Warrior pushes Otori against the cage but Otori circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Ultimate Warrior seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Warrior ducks under a wild hook from Otori.
Warrior tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Otori swats away the attempt to clinch by Warrior.
Otori might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Warrior looks up at the clock and then as Otori takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Warrior smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Otori is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Warrior is controlling him well.
Ultimate Warrior overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Otori parries the strikes from Warrior easily there. Warrior is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Otori to escape.

Warrior swings around for an armbar but Otori sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Warrior's guard.
Otori wants to stand but Warrior is controlling his posture from full guard.

Otori got a little sloppy there for a moment and Warrior has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Otori has managed to get both his arms back between Warrior's legs - danger averted.
Warrior has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Otori wanted to stand there but Warrior had control of the position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Warrior is on top in guard.

Otori has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Warrior stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Otori swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Warrior accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Warrior throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Otori works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Otori wants to stand but Warrior is controlling the position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Otori scores with a jab. Warrior acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Shigeru Otori showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Otori fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Warrior has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Warrior has picked Otori up - he's going for a ride! Warrior dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Otori is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
