The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Putin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Debonaire throws out the jab.
It seemed like Putin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Debonaire stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Debonaire lands a slapping body shot.
Putin fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Debonaire checks it well.
It looked like Debonaire was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Putin.

Putin using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Debonaire has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Debonaire's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Debonaire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Debonaire throws the left hand but Putin avoids the punch easily.
Debonaire throws a sloppy head kick and Putin moves out of range easily.

Debonaire throws a leg kick which misses Putin's front leg but catches the back leg as Putin tries to avoid it.
Putin tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Debonaire manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Putin misses with a low kick as Debonaire jumps back.

Debonaire looks low and kicks high, catching Putin right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Putin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Debonaire takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Debonaire moves into range and connects with a jab.
Debonaire avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Putin throws a hook but Debonaire blocks it.
Debonaire appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Debonaire misses with a body kick.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Debonaire drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Putin onto his butt! Putin pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.
Putin looks to score with a jab to the body but Debonaire is just out of range.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Legend Debonaire takes that one as he scored multiple knockdowns. Vlad Putin was lucky to get out of the first round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

OH! Putin has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Debonaire smells blood and charges in for the finish! Debonaire unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Putin sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!

A very excited looking Legend Debonaire made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
