PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Lomax (ranked 48 p4p, 226 weight class) and David Choke (ranked 9 p4p, 38 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 32 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Vincent Lomax!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Lomax as he connects with a hook.

Choke drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Lomax defends it well.
Choke shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lomax as he jumps to the side.

Lomax has Choke up against the cage in a clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Choke has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lomax can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Lomax got a little sloppy there for a moment and Choke has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lomax has managed to get both his arms back between Choke's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Choke throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
