PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sterling Draper (ranked 3111 p4p, 1517 weight class) and Eric Draven (ranked 364 p4p, 204 weight class). Draper's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Asshole. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Sterling Draper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 21 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Eric Draven!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Draven defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Draper.

and Draven counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Draven lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Draven looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Draven cracks Draper with a right hand to the side of the head.
Sterling Draper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Draven finds it's way through Draper's defenses.

Draven takes the fight into the clinch.

Draven decides to pull guard.

Draven has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Draper can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've been hearing that Draper has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Draper remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
