Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Finlay Standifer (ranked 3146 p4p, 3201 weight class) and Sei Narukawa (ranked 362 p4p, 368 weight class). Sei Narukawa will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Standifer swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Narukawa.
Standifer cracks a nice hook into Narukawa's ribs.
Narukawa looks to land a left hand but Standifer moved out of range nicely.
Standifer wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Narukawa gets tackled into the cage by Standifer. Standifer maintains the clinch.
Standifer lands a body punch in the clinch.
Standifer effectively controlling the action here.
Narukawa misses with the head strike.
Standifer lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Standifer is leaning against Narukawa and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Standifer stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Standifer takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Narukawa tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Nice body punch from Standifer - that landed with a thud.

Narukawa tries a body shot but Standifer blocks it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Standifer creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Narukawa wants to control from the top but Standifer keeps moving.
Standifer lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Standifer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Standifer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Standifer slips nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Standifer wants to work for an arm triangle but Narukawa is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Narukawa looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Standifer is taking a breather. Narukawa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Standifer in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Narukawa tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Standifer!
