PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Better Dead (ranked 806 p4p, 502 weight class) and Jason Stackhouse (ranked 116 p4p, 80 weight class). Stackhouse comes into a darkened arena with his song building. True Blood kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Better Dead!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Stackhouse !
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Bruno Hogan and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stackhouse avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Dead throws a lazy right hand but Stackhouse sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Dead takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Dead throws a poor cross that misses
and Stackhouse cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Good shot there by Stackhouse .

It looks like Better Dead has been cut.
Stackhouse lands a lovely overhand right.
Stackhouse throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dead swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Stackhouse lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Stackhouse throws a hook to the side of Dead's head but Dead sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
The fighters circle momentarily. Stackhouse darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Dead uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Stackhouse .

Dead jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Dead throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Dead scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Stackhouse scores with a sloppy right hand. Dead should have avoided that one.

Dead was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Stackhouse tests Dead's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Oh Dead is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dead lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Dead seems to have got his legs back now.
Dead throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Stackhouse lands a nice leg kick that just misses Dead's sensitive parts.

Dead ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Stackhouse throws out a loose jab but Dead uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dead takes one to the side of the head.
Dead just misses with a punch to the body.
A countering left hand to the body from Stackhouse misses.

Stackhouse clinches up against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stackhouse digs a right hand into Dead's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Dead's gas tank.

Stackhouse creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Dead's defenses.

Stackhouse tries to throw a body punch but Dead avoids it by throwing Stackhouse back against the cage.

Stackhouse feints and then cracks Dead's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dead down.
Dead misses with an uppercut
and Stackhouse counters with a good low kick that Dead was not able to check.
Stackhouse 's corner calls for a 1-2. Stackhouse obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Stackhouse is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Dead had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Stackhouse stuns Dead with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Stackhouse lands a big head kick that sends Dead tumbling to the mat! Stackhouse takes a step backwards and waves Dead back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Dead really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Stackhouse rushes Dead and presses him up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Dead breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Dead throws a hook but Stackhouse avoids it easily.

Better Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dead is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Stackhouse lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Jeez, Better Dead's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

Stackhouse pounces like a tiger and cracks Dead with a vicious hook! Dead is down but not out! Stackhouse follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

An out of breath Jason Stackhouse thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
