Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Linkavitch Chomofsky (ranked 870 p4p, 2593 weight class) and Alexander Mesquita (ranked 120 p4p, 345 weight class). Chomofsky comes to the cage accompanied by Mastodon - Sleeping Giant. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alexander Mesquita enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Linkavitch Chomofsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexander Mesquita!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Steven Brown and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chomofsky lands with an uppercut that bounces Mesquita off the cage and back into range.
Chomofsky lands a glancing blow to the side of Mesquita's head.

Mesquita is rocked!

Chomofsky feints and as Mesquita raises his hands in defense, Chomofsky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mesquita is trying to keep Chomofsky in close.
Chomofsky stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mesquita swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mesquita seems to have recovered his senses.
Mesquita has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

Chomofsky tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chomofsky has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mesquita manages to work his way to half guard, despite Chomofsky's best efforts.

Mesquita shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Chomofsky but Chomofsky pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Chomofsky has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mesquita is working away from the top position though.

Chomofsky working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mesquita doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mesquita manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mesquita tries to free his leg and advance position but Chomofsky is retaining full guard.

Chomofsky has momentary wrist control but Mesquita slips an elbow through the middle.

Chomofsky bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mesquita's guard.

Chomofsky got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mesquita has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chomofsky has managed to get both his arms back between Mesquita's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Linkavitch Chomofsky will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Mesquita misses with a takedown
and Mesquita takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Mesquita fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chomofsky sprawls well initially but Mesquita persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mesquita stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Chomofsky has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Mesquita manages to get his head free but now Chomofsky has transitioned to an armbar! Mesquita grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Chomofsky! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
