PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moritz Zimmerman (ranked 1891 p4p, 1363 weight class) and Nate DeBramalo (ranked 281 p4p, 206 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate DeBramalo!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Matti Vanhoillinen and Ben Zyskovitsi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeBramalo misses with an uppercut

and Zimmerman counters with a nice double leg into guard.
DeBramalo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zimmerman is one step ahead there.
Zimmerman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. DeBramalo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Zimmerman throws a strike but DeBramalo rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Zimmerman is looking for a triangle but DeBramalo pushes his legs off easily.

Zimmerman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. DeBramalo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. DeBramalo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zimmerman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zimmerman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Zimmerman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but DeBramalo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Zimmerman has DeBramalo in his guard.

Zimmerman isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. DeBramalo stacks Zimmerman on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by DeBramalo!

Zimmerman has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. DeBramalo is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Zimmerman.

DeBramalo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Zimmerman manages to avoid it.

Zimmerman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
DeBramalo misses with an uppercut.
Zimmerman shoots in for a takedown but DeBramalo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fighters circling - DeBramalo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
