Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alexei Sykov (ranked 5284 p4p, 5500 weight class) and Ridley Scott (ranked 571 p4p, 580 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Alexei Sykov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ridley Scott!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sykov.
Scott fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sykov scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
The fight stays on the outside here - Scott looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sykov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ground and pound from Sykov seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Sykov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scott is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scott can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sykov is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Sykov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sykov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Scott wants to get back to full guard but Sykov has mounted him!
Sykov working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Scott turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Sykov off and cradles Scott's limp body as Sykov celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Alexei Sykov!
In his post fight interview, Alexei Sykov started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
