PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Albans (ranked 1039 p4p, 1661 weight class) and Richmond Belvedere (ranked 154 p4p, 232 weight class). Richmond Belvedere struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.2lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Matthew Albans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Richmond Belvedere!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Albans closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Albans postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Belvedere is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Albans , into his guard.

Belvedere won't allow Albans to sweep him here.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Albans is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Belvedere still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Belvedere has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Belvedere's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Albans is holding on here and Belvedere must be using up a lot of energy. Albans has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Belvedere gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
