The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rivers clinches up with Simbolon and pushes him back against the cage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Rivers's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Rivers has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Simbolon clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Rivers cracks Simbolon with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Simbolon from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Rivers is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Simbolon has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Rivers has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Simbolon taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Rivers doesn't care though - he's delighted!
