Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ant Thrax (ranked 2716 p4p, 2520 weight class) and Clay Mann (ranked 349 p4p, 326 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thrax misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mann.
Mann fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Thrax tries to counter by clinching up but Mann breaks away and moves out of range.
Mann takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Thrax clobbers Mann with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Mann looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Mann is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Mann is just content to waste time from the top position. Thrax takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Mann tries to free his leg and advance position but Thrax is retaining full guard.

Thrax wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Mann manages to pass to side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thrax is looking to control Mann's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Thrax avoid being mounted?
Mann with the ground and pound but Thrax uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Mann stops Thrax from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A close round but Clay Mann will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Thrax gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Thrax wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Mann fails to land the takedown.
Thrax bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Mann's head backwards.

and Thrax counters with a nice right hand that sends Mann toppling to the canvas! Mann scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Thrax finish him?!

Mann is rocked!
Ant Thrax has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Clay Mann.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thrax fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Mann out cold! Brutal finish!
