PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boris Klenchko (ranked 3896 p4p, 4845 weight class) and Ragnar Lothbrok (ranked 422 p4p, 488 weight class). Klenchko has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ragnar Lothbrok!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksei Zolotukhin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lothbrok tries for a takedown but Klenchko sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Klenchko wants to slow Lothbrok down by chopping away at his legs.
Klenchko connects with an inside leg kick.
We've been told by Klenchko's head coaches at Hilo MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Klenchko closes the distance and clinches.
Lothbrok tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Klenchko smiles and moves away.
Lothbrok looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Boris Klenchko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ragnar Lothbrok.
Klenchko tries to score with a low kick but Lothbrok moves his leg out of the way.
Lothbrok misses the shot to the body.
Nice takedown defense from Klenchko. No joy for Lothbrok on that attempt.
Lothbrok's coach down at Alpha Brasil was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lothbrok's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Lothbrok. Klenchko does a little dance to reset his feet.
Klenchko is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Lothbrok.
Lothbrok with a lazy takedown attempt
and Klenchko counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Klenchko swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lothbrok with the counter takedown but Klenchko avoids it easily.
Klenchko misses with a straight left.

Klenchko closes the distance and clinches.
Lothbrok is trying to pull guard but Klenchko turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Come on Klenchko - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Lothbrok fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Klenchko throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Lothbrok pulls Klenchko into guard.

Lothbrok has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Klenchko should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Lothbrok has tightened it up now! Klenchko should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
