Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ben Slam!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Eemeli Lampi!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lampi scores with a punch to the head.
It looks like Ben Slam has been cut.
Lampi lands a big head kick that sends Slam tumbling to the mat! Lampi takes a step backwards and waves Slam back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Slam looks to land a left hand but Lampi moved out of range nicely.
A slow jab from Lampi misses its intended target.
Slam seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Lampi connects with an inside leg kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Slam fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Slam lands a big head kick that sends Lampi tumbling to the mat! Slam takes a step backwards and waves Lampi back to his feet - he wants the finish!
It looks like Eemeli Lampi has been cut.
Slam staying out of range there.
Lampi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Slam.
A clash of legs there as Slam blocks the low kick.
Slam appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Sloppy strikes from Slam. Those never looked like landing.
Slam feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Lampi sprawling to the canvas! Lampi rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Slam finish him?!
Slam steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lampi.
Slam drops Lampi with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Lampi looks back up at him and smiles so Slam waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Lampi is rocked!
Lampi is holding his hands too far apart here. Slam throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Lampi is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ben Slam!
Ben Slam retains his heavyweight title!
After winning the bout, Ben Slam thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
