The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Anjo is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Maximus Jr doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anjo.

Anjo got a little sloppy there for a moment and Maximus Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Anjo has managed to get both his arms back between Maximus Jr's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maximus Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Anjo defends well.
Anjo wants to get up but he can't break Maximus Jr's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Anjo takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Anjo dives in and grabs Maximus Jr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Maximus Jr pushes down on Anjo's head and hops out.
Maximus Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anjo.

Anjo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Maximus Jr circles away.
Anjo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Maximus Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Anjo somewhat.

Anjo tries to move into range but Maximus Jr moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Maximus Jr fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Anjo on the side of the head.
Anjo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Maximus Jr tests Anjo's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Anjo finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Maximus Jr's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Anjo falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
