PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bob Probert (ranked 2324 p4p, 23728 weight class) and Pawel Nastula (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Probert might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to DNA. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Probert!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 36 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pawel Nastula!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nastula takes one to the chin there.
Nastula shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Probert counters with a stiff right hand.
Nastula changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Probert tries to avoid it but Nastula manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Probert to the ground. Probert escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bob Probert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Probert lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Nastula takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Nice sprawl there from Probert as Nastula shoots in.
Bob Probert has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pawel Nastula.
Probert lands with an overhand left.

letting Probert counter with a right hand.

Nastula drops his hands momentarily and Probert takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
A nice leg kick from Probert, right into the meat of the thigh.
Nastula is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nastula walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Probert is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Probert lands a slapping body shot.
Probert lands a nice shot that snaps Nastula's head back.
Probert connects with a single shot there.

Nastula is rocked!
Probert connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Probert lands the left hand.
Probert lands a leg kick that knocks Nastula off balance momentarily.
Nastula wants to clinch but Probert slips to the side
enabling Probert to counter with a crisp jab.
Nastula is still on wobbly legs! Can Probert finish him?
Probert digs a good hook to Nastula's body.
Nastula seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Probert lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Probert fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Probert lands a nice shot that snaps Nastula's head back.

Probert drops Nastula with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nastula looks back up at him and smiles so Probert waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

and Probert counters with a huge right that knocks Nastula out cold! Probert is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bob Probert!
Bob Probert decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
