PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hideki Nakamura (ranked 3565 p4p, 2766 weight class) and Hector Ramos (ranked 446 p4p, 356 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hector Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Marco Blurström.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nakamura finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nakamura punishes Ramos's body with a nice straight punch.
Ramos pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Nakamura back to the cage. Ramos follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Ramos stalks Nakamura and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nakamura's face. Nakamura staggers backwards, shaken.
Ramos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nakamura.
Ramos tries to clinch but Nakamura moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Nakamura on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Nakamura keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Ramos closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Nakamura counter with a right hand.

It looks like Hector Ramos has been cut.
Ramos takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Nakamura misses with a hook.

Ramos moves into the clinch.
A right hand to the body from Nakamura.
Nakamura throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Ramoss head.

Nakamura lands with a short shot to the head.
Nakamura pushes Ramos back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ramos wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Ramos tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Nakamura just stands there and leans against the cage.
Nakamura lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nakamura scores with a nice hook to the head.
Nakamura lands an elbow that stopped Ramos in his tracks for a moment.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Nakamura.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ramos.
Ramos on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Nakamura makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Ramos swings wildly with an uppercut but Nakamura uses good head movement to avoid it.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Nakamura.
Nakamura lands a hook that snaps the head of Ramos backwards.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nakamura breaks from the clinch.
Ramos keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Nakamura.
Nakamura swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Ramos tries to clinch up.
Ramos moves forwards but Nakamura connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Nakamura misses with a body kick.
Nakamura scores with a jab. Ramos acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Ramos gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Ramos takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

That has opened up Hector Ramos's cut even more.
Ramos ducks under a wild hook from Nakamura.
Sloppy strikes from Nakamura. Those never looked like landing.
Ramos falls off balance throwing a combination
and Nakamura counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Nakamura has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Ramos takes a body punch but keeps moving.

Ramos tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Ramos pushes Nakamura up against the cage in a clinch.
Ramos wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Nakamura swings wildly with an uppercut but Ramos uses good head movement to avoid it.
A frustrated look appears on Ramos's face as he tries to break the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Ramos.
Nakamura lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Nakamura lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nakamura digs a right hand underneath Ramos's ribcage. Ramos let out a lung full of air as it connected.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Nakamura.
Ramos's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Ramos tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hideki Nakamura has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Ramos.
Ramos looks winded!
Nakamura lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Nakamura drops Ramos with a big knee straight up the middle! Ramos is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nakamura throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Ramos fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nakamura misses with an uppercut.
Nakamura slips a jab and a cross from Ramos.
Ramos slips a straight right by Nakamura.
Ramos moves out of range as Nakamura strikes.

Nakamura cracks Ramos with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Nakamura has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ramos to stand back up!

Ramos is rocked!
Nakamura scores with a nice body kick.
Ramos is still on wobbly legs! Can Nakamura finish him?
Nakamura throws an uppercut from hell that sends Ramos clean off his feet! He's out cold! Nakamura stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
