Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Law!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Samuel Cooke!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters are only really looking to counter, so after a good 30 seconds of circling each other endlessly, the referee has stepped in and told them both to be more aggressive.

Cooke shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Law has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cooke can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cooke avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Cooke drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cooke jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Cooke drops back looking for a leg! Law is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Law manages to kick Cooke off! Cooke jumps back into Law's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cooke thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Law is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cooke drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Cooke seems to have locked his on tight now - Law screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Cooke, as he picks up the win!

During a confident post fight interview, Samuel Cooke thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
