Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iso Paa (ranked 237 p4p, 635 weight class) and Antun Simunic (ranked 33 p4p, 93 weight class). Simunic is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Monster. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paa takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Paa shoots in looking for a takedown but Simunic manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Paa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Paa walks into a straight right hand from Simunic.
Simunic lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Simunic throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Paa sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Simunic misses with a jab, cross combination.
A counter left hand to the body from Paa misses its target.
Some bone on bone action there as Simunic checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Paa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Paa throws a looping overhand right but Simunic ducks down to avoid it.
Paa digs a good hook to Simunic's body.

Simunic turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
We've been hearing reports that Paa has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Simunic moves forwards but Paa connects with a nice, crisp jab.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Simunic can do anything to dispel that myth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paa slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Paa has hold of Simunic's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Simunic tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Paa cranks the arm and Simunic screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Simunic, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
