Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Cowan (ranked 907 p4p, 554 weight class) and Laertes Royster (ranked 46 p4p, 30 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mickey Cowan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Laertes Royster!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Alyssa Summers and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Royster misses with a right hand
and Cowan counters with a nice uppercut.
Royster lands a nice shot to the body.

and Cowan counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Royster has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Cowan misses with a body shot.

Royster loads up on a big right hand but Cowan slips the punch.
Cowan takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Laertes Royster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Cowan might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Cowan looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Cowan lands a left and a right that send Royster crashing to the mat, dazed. Cowan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Royster is rocked!
Royster looks up at the clock. Bad move! Cowan lands a right hand from hell, dropping Royster. Cowan pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mickey Cowan!
A very excited looking Mickey Cowan made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
