Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joao Oliveira (ranked 2003 p4p, 2187 weight class) and John Burdon (ranked 250 p4p, 257 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Burdon has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Burdon swings for the body but Oliveira moves out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Oliveira has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Burdon feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Oliveira sprawling to the canvas! Oliveira rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Burdon finish him?!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burdon shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Oliveira takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Burdon sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Oliveira bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!
