Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aahil Mohammad (ranked 728 p4p, 1817 weight class) and Paul Welch (ranked 122 p4p, 255 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Paul Welch!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mohammad closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Welch to the mat! Welch manages to get full guard.
Welch is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Mohammad is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Welch can do anything to dispel that myth.
Welch looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mohammad with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Mohammad controls from within his opponent's guard.
Mohammad won't allow Welch to sweep him here.
Mohammad stands and throws Welch's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Welch seems a little lost for a moment, as Mohammad dominates the positioning.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mohammad scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Welch to see if he's OK.
Mohammad has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Mohammad looks up at the clock and then as Welch takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Mohammad smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Mohammad lands a strong strike to the head of Welch. That's dazed him! Mohammad looking to finish here. Welch is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Mohammad lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
