Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Vovchanchyn (ranked 1080 p4p, 3652 weight class) and Happy Chukwudu (ranked 153 p4p, 422 weight class). Chukwudu has chosen Rooster as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fedor Vovchanchyn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Happy Chukwudu!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chukwudu manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Vovchanchyn on his heels. He'll look to pass Vovchanchyn's guard now, I'm sure.
Chukwudu looking to sit in guard and control but Vovchanchyn gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Vovchanchyn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Chukwudu pulls Vovchanchyn in close to his closed guard and prevents Vovchanchyn from doing any damage or advancing position.

Chukwudu drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chukwudu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Vovchanchyn swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Chukwudu pushes down on Vovchanchyn's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Vovchanchyn is looking for a sweep. Chukwudu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Chukwudu takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Chukwudu is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vovchanchyn is just riding it out for now. Chukwudu eventually gives up the hold.
Chukwudu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vovchanchyn doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chukwudu.

Vovchanchyn pushes Chukwudu off looking to stand but Chukwudu dives back in and keeps control.
Chukwudu is stalling here. Vovchanchyn is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Chukwudu seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Vovchanchyn has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Vovchanchyn will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That was a close round but I would say that Fedor Vovchanchyn will probably get the nod.

Happy Chukwudu is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Horrible takedown attempt by Chukwudu or perhaps it was just good defense by Vovchanchyn, which made it look bad.
It looked like Vovchanchyn wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Chukwudu scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Fedor Vovchanchyn.
