Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Je Ha Kim (ranked 933 p4p, 1648 weight class) and Macka Briggs (ranked 151 p4p, 246 weight class). Briggs comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Stepping Razor by Peter Tosh kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Je Ha Kim is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Je Ha Kim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Macka Briggs!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Anthony Taglia and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Kim tests Briggs's chin there with a solid looking shot.

It looks like Macka Briggs has been cut.
Kim misses with a hook to the body

and Briggs counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Briggs.
Kim lands a hook that snaps the head of Briggs backwards.

Kim jabs Briggs right on the nose. Briggs blinks but takes it well.

Briggs shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Kim napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Kim can't do much from the bottom here.
Kim's coaches at Takeda Clan Gym have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Briggs takes a little break here. Kim wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Briggs misses with the ground and pound.
Briggs looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Briggs staying calm.
Briggs is looking to take a break and control but Kim is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Briggs remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Kim is looking to reverse the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kim is trying to control Briggs's posture but Briggs avoids it.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Macka Briggs will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters circling - Kim throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Briggs shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kim pinned against the cage. Kim gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Briggs jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A little feinted left hand from Kim on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Kim ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
It looked like Kim wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Nice jab there from Briggs.
Briggs with a lazy takedown attempt
and Kim counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Briggs gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kim scores with a shoulder strike.
Kim has a couple of punches blocked by Briggs.
Kim lands a nice uppercut.
Briggs lands with a short head shot on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kim.
A short right from Briggs on the inside.
Kim scores with a shoulder strike.
A short uppercut from Briggs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kim lands an uppercut.
Kim misses with the head strike.

Briggs breaks from the clinch.

and Kim takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Briggs walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Briggs lands with a right and another and another! Kim is in big trouble! Briggs lands again and this time it's lights out for Kim! A quality knockout there for Briggs.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Macka Briggs!
