Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 2235 p4p, 2677 weight class) and Morten Larsen (ranked 308 p4p, 358 weight class). Morten Larsen is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Morten Larsen!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Larsen throws a right hand that Rogers ducks under and follows up with a left that Rogers also avoids with ease.
Rogers is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Larsen.
Larsen connects with a looping right hand.
Rogers slips under a jab from Larsen.
Larsen throws a jab but it's blocked by Rogers.
Larsen connects with a right hand. Rogers shakes it off.

Rogers is rocked!
Larsen lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rogers at a distance.
Oh Rogers is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rogers closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Rogers seems to have got his legs back now.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Larsen is looking for a sweep.

Rogers is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Larsen has escaped the position, nice work there.

Larsen is trying to get back to his feet.
Rogers trying to control the position but Larsen is working away.

Rogers seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Larsen for as long as he can get away with.

Rogers remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rogers wants to control but Larsen is keeping him busy.
Rogers is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Larsen will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Rogers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Larsen is looking for a sweep.
Rogers content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Larsen is not content to let Rogers control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rogers slows the pace down.

Rogers thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rogers remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Larsen is trying to get back to half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
You can see the frustration on Larsen's face as Rogers controls the position.
Larsen is looking to reverse the position.
Larsen is still trying to improve position.
Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Larsen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Larsen tries to bench press Rogers off him but Rogers keeps the position.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Larsen, who protects the arm well.
Rogers takes a little break here. Larsen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Rogers will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Larsen tries to clinch there but Rogers circles away.
We've been informed that Larsen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Rogers tries to score a power double leg takedown but Larsen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rogers somewhat.
Rogers takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Larsen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Rogers looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Rogers shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Larsen as he jumps to the side.
Rogers shoots for a double leg takedown but Larsen sprawls well. He's pushed Rogers's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Steve Rogers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Larsen drops Rogers with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Rogers looks back up at him and smiles so Larsen waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Larsen changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Rogers shoots in for a double leg but Larsen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Larsen is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Larsen lands with a shot to the body.
Larsen lands a nice hook to Rogers's body. Rogers takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Larsen scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Rogers doesn't seem bothered though.
Larsen fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Rogers on the side of the head.
Larsen rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rogers moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Larsen connects with a nice cross there... Rogers is looking wobbly and Larsen recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Rogers to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Larsen jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Morten Larsen!
