The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Trent shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Trent tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Smith connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Trent swings widly with a right hand

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Trent kicks off Smith and gets to his feet.
Trent shoots in but Smith avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Smith.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Left hook, right uppercut from Smith.
Trent shoots and misses

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Trent pushes Smith off and scrambles back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Micky Trent. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Trent doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Smith throws a right hand that Trent ducks under and follows up with a left that Trent also avoids with ease.
Trent shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Smith but Smith pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Trent will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Smith changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Trent is breathing heavily.
Trent tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Trent takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Smith lands a jab-cross combination.
Smith throws a one two combo.
Vonte Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Smith duly obliges.

Smith throws a head kick that Trent semi-blocks.

Trent is rocked!
Smith lands with a big right hook that stumbles Trent - he's out on his feet here! Smith follows up with another monster hook that separates Trent from consciousness! Trent falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Smith stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
