Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ben Askrew!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Waddle!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Waddle clinches up against the cage.
Waddle lands a hook that snaps the head of Askrew backwards.
Waddle digs a right hand into Askrew's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Askrew's gas tank.
Askrew drops down looking for an ankle pick but Waddle pulls his leg out and moves away.
Waddle lands with a hook. Askrew tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Waddle lands a two punch combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Askrew takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Waddle scores with the left hand. Askrew knows he should have avoided that one.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Waddle scores with a decent looking hook.

Askrew tries to keep at a distance but Waddle has taken the fight into the clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Waddle.
Waddle scores with a shoulder strike.
Askrew changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Waddle fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Waddle fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Waddle sends Askrew crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Waddle is motioning to the referee to let Askrew up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Waddle with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A lazy left from Waddle finds it's target.
Askrew takes one on the button.
Waddle scores with a nice strike.
Waddle steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Askrew is out on his feet! Waddle sets himself and nearly takes Askrew's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Chris Waddle!
After the fight, Chris Waddle was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
