The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira misses with a double jab
and Griffin connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Oliveira shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
enabling Griffin to counter with a crisp jab.
Griffin swings for the body but Oliveira moves out of range.
A little jabbing left from Oliveira on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Oliveira missing with a left hand there. Griffin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Griffin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Griffin moves out of range of the strikes.
Griffin appears to be looking for a big counter.
Griffin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Griffin's corner calls for a 1-2. Griffin obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Oliveira throws a right hand that misses
and Griffin counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Oliveira thinking.
Oliveira scores with the left hand. Griffin knows he should have avoided that one.
Griffin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Oliveira feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Oliveira on the ground.

Oliveira drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Griffin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Oliveira has Griffin in his guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Oliveira is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Griffin has his hands clasped together but Oliveira extends and breaks Griffin's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Oliveira.
