Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jushin Liger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Pete Kiloe!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liger looks for a takedown but Kiloe sprawls well.
Kiloe clinches.
Liger jumps guard but Kiloe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
We've been hearing reports that Liger has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kiloe lands a body punch in the clinch.
Liger is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kiloe gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jushin Liger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kiloe has Liger pushed against the cage.
Kiloe lands a right hand.
Kiloe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kiloe lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kiloe.
Kiloe lands a big head kick that sends Liger tumbling to the mat! Kiloe takes a step backwards and waves Liger back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Liger is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Liger misses with a takedown
and Kiloe counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Liger has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
