Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matija Maestro (ranked 203 p4p, 214 weight class) and Chukwu Adeoluwa (ranked 27 p4p, 30 weight class). Maestro comes to the cage accompanied by Shortwire - Reconfig. Chukwu Adeoluwa has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Matija Maestro's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matija Maestro!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chukwu Adeoluwa!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maestro lands with a good body shot.
We've been informed that Adeoluwa has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Maestro throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Adeoluwa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

It looks like Matija Maestro has been cut.
Adeoluwa fails with a takedown attempt.
Adeoluwa tries for a takedown but Maestro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Adeoluwa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
It looked like Maestro was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Adeoluwa.
Matija Maestro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chukwu Adeoluwa.
Adeoluwa stalks Maestro and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Maestro's face. Maestro staggers backwards, shaken.

Maestro looks to land a combination but Adeoluwa avoids it well.
Adeoluwa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maestro but Maestro pushes him off and we're back to square one.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Adeoluwa enables Maestro to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Adeoluwa manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Maestro is looking for a kimura but Adeoluwa is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Maestro to get the leverage.
Maestro tries to pass the half guard into mount. Adeoluwa knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

A relieved looking Matija Maestro thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
