Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rimtas Kentas (ranked 1741 p4p, 2186 weight class) and William Spud (ranked 186 p4p, 229 weight class). Spud has chosen Havana as his entrance music. William Spud has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Rimtas Kentas's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rimtas Kentas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, William Spud!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spud tries to keep at a distance but Kentas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Spud is trying to stall.

Kentas drags the fight down to the ground.

Kentas is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spud defends well.

Kentas isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Spud stacks Kentas on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Spud!
Kentas is looking to regain half guard here but Spud keeps moving and retains side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kentas is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Spud knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Spud for a finish.

Kentas looking to break Spud's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Spud remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kentas will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kentas has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Spud has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

What can Spud do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Kentas slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Spud.
Kentas needs to keep his hands up - Spud had a free shot at his head there.
Spud's corner calls for a 1-2. Spud obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Spud lands a hook to the side of the head.
Spud's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Kentas creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Spud tries to work over Kentas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Spud escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Kentas has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Kentas there as he acknowledges the shot.

It looks like Rimtas Kentas has been cut.

Kentas has closed the distance and engaged Spud in a clinch.
Kentas misses with a knee strike.
Spud misses with a body punch.
Kentas blocks an uppercut.
Kentas is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Spud gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kentas tries a body shot but Spud blocks it.
Kentas tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Spud smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rimtas Kentas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Spud lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Kentas tries to clinch there but Spud circles away.
Spud waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Kentas.

Kentas goes for a double leg but Spud avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Spud continues to drive forward.
Still in the clinch, Spud scores with a nice short uppercut.
Spud gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Kentas.

Kentas tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Kentas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Spud throws a looping overhand right but Kentas ducks down to avoid it.
Rimtas Kentas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spud bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kentas's head.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kentas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Spud! But no joy.
Spud swats away the attempt to clinch by Kentas.

Kentas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Spud avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

William Spud showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kentas ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Spud falls off balance throwing a combination
and Kentas counters with a nice low kick that buckles Spud's knee momentarily.
Kentas tries to close the distance and clinch up but Spud swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kentas fails with an attempt to clinch.

Kentas rushes Spud and presses him up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Spud.
Kentas has Spud pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Spud manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kentas looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kentas has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Spud is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Kentas.

Spud throwing strikes but Kentas manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

Kentas goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Spud rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kentas's guard! Nice work there by Spud!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kentas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Spud gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kentas is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Kentas is looking for a triangle here but Spud uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Kentas can't do much from the bottom here.
Spud postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
You can see the frustration on Kentas's face as Spud controls the position.

Spud wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kentas keeps working.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kentas wants to control but Spud postures up.
Kentas is trying to work for a sweep but Spud has mounted him!
Spud prevents Kentas from getting the reversal.
Kentas is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Kentas tries to hold on but Spud pushes him away.
Spud sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Rimtas Kentas overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Kentas is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kentas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

William Spud comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Spud has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
