The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arnason lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Arnason misses with a straight left.
Mesquita slips a jab from Arnason.
Mesquita shoots in but no luck this time.
Arnason misses with a looping right.
Nice takedown defense from Arnason. No joy for Mesquita on that attempt.
Arnason went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Arnason rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mesquita moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Mesquita looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Arnason throws a big counter combination but Mesquita scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Oskar Arnason has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Mesquita.
Mesquita shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Arnason as he jumps to the side.
Arnason works over Mesquita's head and body with a nice combination.

Arnason takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Oh Arnason is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mesquita cracks Arnason with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Mesquita immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Arnason is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Mesquita!
