Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jhonny Sparks (ranked 4472 p4p, 24374 weight class) and Dino Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dino Rex will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jhonny Sparks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dino Rex!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sparks scores with a takedown into Rex's guard.
Rex being controlled here, momentarily.
Sparks's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Rex is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Rex wants to get back to his feet but Sparks is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Rex can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sparks controls the pace.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Sparks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sparks throws an elbow but Rex slips to the side and avoids it well.
Sparks tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Rex is trying to buck Sparks off.
Sparks controls the position from side control.
Rex on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sparks lands a nice forearm strike.

Sparks has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sparks has an Americana. Rex didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sparks is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sparks hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Jhonny Sparks!
In his post fight interview, Jhonny Sparks started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
