The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepanov misses with a takedown attempt
and Kalenski counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kalenski.
Stepanov is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kalenski misses with an elbow strike.
Stepanov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Kalenski prevents it.

Kalenski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Stepanov sprawls well. Stepanov wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kalenski gets slowly back to his feet.

No joy there for Kalenski, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kalenski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Stepanov.

As Stepanov backs off Kalenski throws a huge counter combo but Stepanov manages to avoid it all.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Stepanov.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Stepanov cracks Kalenski with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
