Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Lima (ranked 1984 p4p, 1493 weight class) and Ron Rousey (ranked 243 p4p, 193 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rousey's choice of entrance music: USA JUDO ANTHEM. Paulo Lima had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rousey swings for the body but Lima moves out of range.
Rousey steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lima.
Lima walks into a left hand.
Rousey looks to throw the jab but Lima is out of range.
Lima attempts a counter takedown but Rousey avoids it well and moves away.
Rousey connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lima walks into a left hand.
Rousey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Lima tries to counter by clinching up but Rousey breaks away and moves out of range.
Lima gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Lima fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rousey checks it well.
Rousey fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Lima changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Rousey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lima looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Rousey avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lima.

Lima working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Rousey is pushing Lima's head away, looking to escape. Lima manages to hold on to the position though.
Lima just content to control the position.
Rousey wants to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Rousey manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Lima is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rousey doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lima.
Rousey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lima. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lima wants to work for an arm triangle but Rousey is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rousey is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lima wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rousey keeps working.
Rousey is looking to escape.
Lima stalling.
Lima's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Lima seems to be looking for submissions.

Lima in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Rousey tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lima!
