Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zakaria Burch (ranked 3045 p4p, 3355 weight class) and Mark Dashark (ranked 107 p4p, 118 weight class). Dashark has chosen Big shark by BEACH BOYS as his entrance music. Zakaria Burch has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Zakaria Burch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mark Dashark!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dashark changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burch tries to avoid it but Dashark manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burch to the ground. Burch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Dashark slips nicely into half guard.

Burch tries to get to full guard but Dashark has control of the leg.
Dashark throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dashark is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Still in half guard, Dashark seems content to control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dashark lands a nice short elbow.

Burch keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dashark is nestled in close to Burch, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Burch definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Burch knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dashark on the ground.

Burch on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Burch tries to get out of the position.

Dashark slips a nice elbow through Burch's hands, connecting with Burch's forehead.
Dashark is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Dashark takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Dashark working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Dashark lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Dashark content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Dashark working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dashark lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Burch down.

Dashark cracks Burch with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Burch is rocked!
Burch takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Oh Burch is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Dashark scores with punches from side control.
Burch takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dashark has eaten all the pies!

Dashark cracks Burch with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Dashark immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Burch is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Dashark!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Dashark!
A relieved looking Mark Dashark thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
