Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Edwards slips a jab and a cross from Ermes.
Ermes moves into range and connects with a jab.

Ermes cracks Edwards with a big right hand and Edwards goes down!

Edwards is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ermes won't allow Edwards to get back to his feet.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Edwards can do anything to dispel that myth.

Edwards escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ermes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ermes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Edwards keeping moving, preventing Ermes from controlling successfully.

Edwards working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ermes doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ermes manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ermes steps in with a hook that catches Edwards right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Ermes follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Edwards looks absolutely devastated.
