Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, LaTroy Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 38 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kilo Maluga!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Josh West and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maluga throws a leg kick but Johnson sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Maluga throws a lazy uppercut
and Johnson counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
It looks like Kilo Maluga has been cut.
Johnson dips to his left and cracks Maluga with an uppercut!
A big left from Johnson misses.
Maluga was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Johnson misses with a looping right.
A lazy body kick from Maluga
and Johnson counters with a thumping low kick.
A shot to the body from Maluga misses
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand.
That has opened up Kilo Maluga's cut even more.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Johnson throws a lazy uppercut
and Maluga counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like LaTroy Johnson has been cut.
Maluga thows a leg kick but Johnson checks it
and Johnson counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson moves out of range as Maluga throws a body kick.
Johnson throws a poor cross that misses
and Maluga counters with a good low kick that Johnson was not able to check.
Nice shot by Johnson.
The cut above Kilo Maluga's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Maluga scores with a punch to the head.
The crowd cheers as Maluga lands an impressive looking overhand right. Johnson doesn't seem phased though.
Johnson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Maluga can pounce on him.
A punch combination from Maluga misses.
Johnson throwing a counter right hand but Maluga manages to avoid it.
Johnson misses with a hook
and Maluga counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Johnson off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Maluga follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Johnson was out before he hit the floor.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kilo Maluga!
An out of breath Kilo Maluga thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
