Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Kleen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerome Winters!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Winters closes the distance and lands a one-two.

It looks like John Kleen has been cut.
Winters tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kleen was well out of range. Poor timing from Winters.
Winters misses with a wild combination.
Kleen feinted with a counter takedown.
Kleen gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Winters counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Winters throws a lazy head kick

and Kleen counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Winters!
Kleen misses with the ground and pound.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
The ground and pound from Kleen seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Winters is looking for a sweep.
Winters is not content to let Kleen control the position.
Winters is looking to regain half guard here but Kleen keeps moving and retains side control.

Kleen looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Winters sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Kleen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Winters defends it well.
Winters is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Kleen scores with a couple of nice shots.

Kleen is looking for a kimura but Winters is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kleen to get the leverage.

Kleen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Kleen gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Winters has his takedown stuffed
and Kleen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Winters will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Winters connects with a body shot that sends Kleen's belly button to the back.
Kleen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Winters but Winters pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Winters throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Winters misses with a low kick.
Kleen gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Winters rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kleen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Winters defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kleen.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for John Kleen. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kleen fails with the takedown.
Jerome Winters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Winters has managed to clinch.

Kleen jumps guard.
Winters is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Kleen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Winters gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Winters slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Winters slips nicely into half guard.
Kleen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Winters stands up from half guard.

Winters throws a head kick that Kleen semi-blocks.
Kleen darts in looking for a takedown but Winters gets double underhooks and turns Kleen into the ropes.
Winters lands a good knee to the midsection. Kleen won't want to take too many of those.
Kleen has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Winters is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Kleen jumps into guard, dragging Winters to the mat.
Winters won't allow Kleen to sweep him here.
Kleen is breathing heavily.
Winters sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Kleen is looking for a triangle here but Winters uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Kleen is trying to escape the position but Winters is controlling the position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jerome Winters dominated that round.
The cut man is working on John Kleen's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!

That kick from Winters tenderised Kleen's leg. Kleen is trying to keep his angry face on.
Winters's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Winters duly obliges.
Kleen shoots in and drives through. Winters sprawls well.
Kleen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Winters tries to avoid it but Kleen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Winters to the ground. Winters escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Kleen is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Winters is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kleen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kleen's back!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kleen just trying to survive but Winters is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Winters controlling the positon.
Kleen trying to get back to his feet but Winters is in full control for now.
Winters is riding his opponent, not letting Kleen buck him off.
Winters has the hooks in. Kleen is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Kleen is keeping busy.

Winters has got one arm under Kleen's chin. This could be trouble... Kleen trying to control the other hand but Winters gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Kleen has tapped out! The fight is over!

A relieved looking Jerome Winters thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
