The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ham uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Grossman.
A telegraphed right hand from Ham misses the target.
Grossman's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ham under the eye.
Grossman jabs at Ham's body.
Grossman misses with a looping right.
Ham throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Grossman stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Grossman moves out of range of the strikes.
Grossman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ham scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Grossman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
A looping hook to the body misses from Grossman. Ham does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ham throws a body punch but Grossman moves out of range.

Ham misses with a jab, cross combination.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Grossman holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Grossman lands a hook that snaps the head of Ham backwards.
I was talking to Grossman's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Grossman misses with some punches.
Ham with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Ham working aggressively here.
Ham is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Grossman is keeping busy.
Grossman lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Grossman lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Ham to his knees! Grossman keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

After the fight, Vasily Grossman was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
