PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Metbal Skabetti (ranked 2961 p4p, 6560 weight class) and Jovan Dickons (ranked 381 p4p, 645 weight class). Dickons comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Sidung kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jovan Dickons!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Dean Styles and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skabetti connects with a nice looking jab.
Dickons fails with the takedown.
A little feinted left hand from Skabetti on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Dickons fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Skabetti manages to avoid it.
Skabetti stuffs the takedown attempt from Dickons. Dickons gets slowly back to his feet.
Skabetti went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Dickons doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Skabetti counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Skabetti looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Metbal Skabetti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jovan Dickons.
Dickons looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
It looked like Skabetti wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Dickons throws a body shot but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Skabetti leaves Dickons with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
It looked like Skabetti was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Skabetti scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dickons doesn't seem bothered though.

Skabetti lands a big right hand that sends Dickons crashing to the mat! Skabetti stays standing though and waves Dickons back to his feet!

Jovan Dickons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Skabetti cracks Dickons with a hook to the temple - Dickons is on wobbly legs here! Skabetti swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Dickons falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Skabetti wins by TKO!
