Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Theodore Nouveau (ranked 5797 p4p, 1272 weight class) and Tommy Reed (ranked 281 p4p, 71 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 31 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Theodore Nouveau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tommy Reed!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Francis DeMontford and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Nouveau.
No joy there for Reed, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Reed swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Nouveau.
Reed slaps away a takedown attempt from Nouveau, before circling back to the center of the mat.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Reed! But no joy.
Nouveau ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Nouveau is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Reed.
Nouveau looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reed is fending him off so far but Nouveau persists. Nope, Reed circles away and we're back to standing.

Reed rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nouveau moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Reed tries to keep at a distance but Nouveau has taken the fight into the clinch.
Reed gets through Nouveau's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Reed gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Nouveau.
Reed works on Nouveau's body with a couple of short punches.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Nouveau tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Reed manages to circle out of the way.
Reed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nouveau manages to avoid it.
Reed throws a shot from downtown. Nouveau moves away and avoids it.

Reed swats away the attempt to clinch by Nouveau.
A left and a right from Reed both land. Nice combination.

Nouveau is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Horrible takedown attempt by Nouveau or perhaps it was just good defense by Reed, which made it look bad.
Nouveau shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Reed sprawls well. Reed wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nouveau gets slowly back to his feet.

Reed misses the jab.
Reed on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Reed throws the left hand but Nouveau avoids the punch easily.

Nouveau changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Reed tries to avoid it but Nouveau manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Reed to the ground. Reed escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Reed throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Reed loads up on a big right hand but Nouveau slips the punch.
Reed dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Reed tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Nouveau was well out of range. Poor timing from Reed.
Nouveau shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Reed pinned against the cage. Reed gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nouveau needs to keep his hands up - Reed had a free shot at his head there.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Nouveau fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Reed.
Reed just misses with a punch to the body.
Reed digs a good hook to Nouveau's body.
Reed uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nouveau.
Reed connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Reed feints a jab promting Nouveau to slip. Reed then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Nouveau slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Oh Nouveau is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Reed lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Nouveau shoots in and bounces Reed off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Reed has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Nouveau working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nouveau accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nouveau seems to have got his legs back now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Reed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Reed seems to be working for a kimura but Nouveau defends the submission attempt.

Tommy Reed comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Reed has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
