PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Fisher (ranked 5947 p4p, 5388 weight class) and Richard Morrison (ranked 448 p4p, 428 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that John Fisher has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily John Fisher seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fisher slips under a jab.
Morrison misses with a low kick.
Morrison ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fisher swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fisher throws a body punch but Morrison moves out of range.
Morrison misses with a body shot.
Morrison ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Fisher moves away.
Morrison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Fisher definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Morrison gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Fisher.
Fisher connects with a body shot.
Morrison slips a straight right by Fisher.
Morrison misses the shot to the body.
Morrison takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Morrison misses with a low kick as Fisher jumps back.
Fisher uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Morrison has time to react.
Morrison slips under a jab.
Morrison keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Morrison takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Morrison.
Morrison wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fisher keeps working.

Fisher is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Morrison's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Morrison wants to advance to full mount but Fisher doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Morrison wants to control from the top but Fisher keeps moving.
Morrison pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fisher is keeping the position for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Fisher keeping moving, preventing Morrison from controlling successfully.
Fisher on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fisher tries to get out of the position.
Morrison might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Fisher haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Nice defenses there by Morrison.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Fisher comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Morrison looks to score with a jab to the body but Fisher is just out of range.
Fisher scores with a nice right hand.
Fisher moves out of range of the leg kick from Morrison.
John Fisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fisher swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Good work by Fisher as he checks the leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Fisher. Morrison does a little dance to reset his feet.

Fisher fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morrison manages to avoid it.
Fisher uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Fisher scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Morrison doesn't seem bothered though.

Morrison seems to have recovered his senses.

Fisher throws a monster overhand right that drops Morrison! Fisher follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Our winner, John Fisher, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
