Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charlie Chan (ranked 487 p4p, 663 weight class) and Ryan Yoder (ranked 79 p4p, 97 weight class). Charlie Chan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Charlie Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Yoder!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoder takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Chan lands with a straight right. Yoder didn't see that one coming.
A combination from Yoder does no damage.
Chan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Chan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Chan throws a jab when Yoder was well out of range.
Yoder now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Yoder misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Chan throws a looping overhand right but Yoder ducks down to avoid it.
Chan catches Yoder with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Yoder lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Chan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Chan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Chan has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Doom's Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Chan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Chan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Yoder but Yoder pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Chan throws a lazy right hand but Yoder sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
