Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 19 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gyukosho Fujimoto!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alyoshin moves into the clinch.
Fujimoto wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Fujimoto wants to get back to striking at distance but Alyoshin won't allow it.
Alyoshin lands with a right to the head.
Fujimoto wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Fujimoto can't break the clinch.
Alyoshin lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Fujimoto is trying to break the clinch but Alyoshin has him pressed against the cage.
Fujimoto is looking to break free of the clinch but Alyoshin has double underhooks.
Alyoshin definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Alyoshin with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Fujimoto's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fujimoto has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Alyoshin connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Alyoshin slips a jab and a cross from Fujimoto.
Fujimoto chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Alyoshin can pounce on him.
Fujimoto gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Fujimoto misses with an uppercut. Alyoshin saw that one coming.
Fujimoto lands a nice hook to Alyoshin's body. Alyoshin takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Fujimoto counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Alyoshin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Fujimoto steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect.
Alyoshin lands with a nice body punch.
Fujimoto takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Alyoshin moves into range and connects with a jab.
Alyoshin throws a sloppy head kick and Fujimoto moves out of range easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Fujimoto misses.
Alyoshin misses with a head kick.
Fujimoto throws a body kick that misses.
Alyoshin tries to clinch up.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Fujimoto! But no joy.
Jab, jab by Alyoshin - just one landing.

Alyoshin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Fujimoto is trying to push Alyoshin away but Alyoshin has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Alyoshin lands a hook that snaps the head of Fujimoto backwards.
Fujimoto wants to break free but Alyoshin has control.

Alyoshin scores with the left hand. Fujimoto knows he should have avoided that one.

and Fujimoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alyoshin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Alyoshin buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Alyoshin throws a leg kick which misses Fujimoto's front leg but catches the back leg as Fujimoto tries to avoid it.

Fujimoto gets tackled into the cage by Alyoshin. Alyoshin maintains the clinch.
Alyoshin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Fujimoto's efforts to push away.

Fujimoto escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Alyoshin tries to clinch there but Fujimoto circles away.
Alyoshin falls off balance throwing a combination
and Fujimoto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Alyoshin takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Alyoshin fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Fujimoto is out of range.
Alyoshin throws a low kick, looking for Fujimoto's leg but Fujimoto calmly moves out of range.

Fujimoto takes a swing at Alyoshin's ribcage but misses.
Alyoshin throws a jab but it's blocked by Fujimoto.
Fujimoto on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Alyoshin lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Alyoshin jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Alyoshin moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromFujimoto.
Alyoshin takes a swing at Fujimoto's ribcage but misses.
Alyoshin misses with a leg kick
and Fujimoto connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fujimoto slips under a jab from Alyoshin.
Alyoshin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Fujimoto throws a lazy right hand but Alyoshin sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alyoshin slips a straight right by Fujimoto.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Grant Alyoshin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fujimoto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alyoshin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fujimoto can do to turn this around?
Alyoshin throws a lazy head kick
and Fujimoto counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alyoshin throws a leg kick
and Fujimoto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

and Fujimoto counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fujimoto missing with a left hand there. Alyoshin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Alyoshin looks to throw the jab but Fujimoto is out of range.

Alyoshin sizes up Fujimoto with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fujimoto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Alyoshin circles away quickly and effectively.
Alyoshin is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Grant Alyoshin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fujimoto pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alyoshin tries to clinch there but Fujimoto circles away.
Alyoshin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Fujimoto circles away quickly and effectively.

Alyoshin swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Fujimoto! But no joy.
A nice inside leg kick there by Alyoshin. That's going to slow Fujimoto down.

Fujimoto throws a head kick but Alyoshin moves out of range.
Alyoshin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Grant Alyoshin is winning the standup battle so far.

Fujimoto swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Alyoshin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Alyoshin.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Fujimoto throws a shot from downtown. Alyoshin moves away and avoids it.
Alyoshin tests Fujimoto's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Alyoshin scores with a nice head shot.
A low kick from Alyoshin is predictable there

and Fujimoto counters with a crisp one two that drops Alyoshin! Fujimoto thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Alyoshin to his feet! Alyoshin is in big trouble!

Alyoshin drops Fujimoto with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Fujimoto looks back up at him and smiles so Alyoshin waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Fujimoto is rocked!
Fujimoto goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Fujimoto swings widly with a right hand
and Alyoshin counters with a nice uppercut.
Fujimoto is still on wobbly legs! Can Alyoshin finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alyoshin dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fujimoto. That did some damage!
Fujimoto seems to have recovered his senses.
Alyoshin throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Fujimoto crumples to the floor and the fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Grant Alyoshin!
A relieved looking Grant Alyoshin thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
