PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Peterson (ranked 23850 p4p, 2213 weight class) and Beau Canada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Peterson comes to the cage accompanied by Berzerk by Eminem. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Beau Canada was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jake Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beau Canada!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Darius Henderson and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Peterson misses with a two punch combination.
Canada looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Peterson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Canada defends well and Peterson ends up having to push Canada into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
A short right from Canada.

It looks like Jake Peterson has been cut.
Peterson wants to break free but Canada has control.
Peterson is trying to drag Canada to the mat but Canada just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Peterson throws a punch but it's blocked by Canada.
A nice right hand lands inside from Canada.
Peterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Canada wants the takedown. Peterson is fighting it off but Canada persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Peterson's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Canada's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Peterson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Peterson is breathing heavily.
Canada chips away with some ground and pound.
Peterson wants to sweep here but Canada controlling him for the moment.
Canada is working Peterson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jake Peterson's cut is getting worse.
Canada forces his way into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Canada looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Peterson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Canada slows the pace down in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Canada connects with a nice short shot to Peterson's temple.

Jeez, Jake Peterson's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jake Peterson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Beau Canada!
A relieved looking Beau Canada thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
