This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 23 losses; Arm Breaker! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 12 wins and 16 losses; Vartan Esteves!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Breaker shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Breaker wants to control but Esteves is keeping him busy.
Esteves tries to roll over but Breaker keeps him under control.
Esteves is pressing down on Breaker's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Esteves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Breaker controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Breaker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Breaker tries to lock up and control but Esteves gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Breaker rolls, trying to escape but Esteves keeps control of the position.

Esteves has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Breaker's body.

Breaker really is built like a bowling ball. I wonder if he'd roll if you pushed him down a hill...

It looks like Esteves might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

Esteves is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Well, with Esteves on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Breaker is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

You can see the frustration on Breaker's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Breaker is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Let's hope that Esteves has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Breaker drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Esteves dives on top into guard.

Breaker is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
