Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 26 - 2, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brian Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Gerardo Blanco!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baker lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Blanco thuds a left hand into Baker's body.
A big left from Blanco misses.
Blanco misses with a wild combination.
Blanco waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Baker.
Baker fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Baker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Gerardo Blanco has been cut.
Baker thuds a left hand into Blanco's body.
Baker sizes up Blanco with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Blanco has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Blanco there as he acknowledges the shot.
That has opened up Gerardo Blanco's cut even more.
Baker scores with a shot to the body.
Blanco throws a hook but Baker blocks it.
Baker displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Blanco throws out the jab.
A jab from Baker misses.
Baker misses with a double jab.
Baker lands a left and a right that send Blanco crashing to the mat, dazed. Baker thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Blanco is rocked!
Blanco throws the left hand but Baker avoids the punch easily.
Baker half committed to a counter leg kick.
Blanco is still on wobbly legs! Can Baker finish him?
Baker digs a good body shot into Blanco's ribs.
Blanco throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Blanco drops his hands momentarily and Baker needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Blanco just on the top of the head. Blanco drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Blanco - he's done!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Brian Baker!
