Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rick Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vinicius Tonioli!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ross takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Rick Ross has been cut.
Ross tries to clinch up.
Ross has a takedown stuffed.
Tonioli unleashes a big counter combination but Ross bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ross fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tonioli is out of range.
Tonioli doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ross looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ross fails with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ross shoots for a double leg takedown but Tonioli sprawls well. He's pushed Ross's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Ross. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tonioli stuffs the takedown attempt from Ross. Ross gets slowly back to his feet.
Tonioli throws out a counter right but Ross avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Tonioli stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tonioli wants it to stay on the feet.
A big left from Ross misses.
Ross takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Ross throws a low kick, looking for Tonioli's leg but Tonioli calmly moves out of range.
Tonioli connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Ross's hands.
Tonioli digs a good hook to Ross's body.
Ross takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Ross is breathing heavily.
Tonioli fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ross on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ross fails with the takedown
and Tonioli counters with a left to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tonioli cracks Ross with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Ross falls to his knees and Tonioli doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Vinicius Tonioli!
