Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kuroda Atsushi (ranked 2495 p4p, 1393 weight class) and Henry Colt (ranked 140 p4p, 78 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kuroda Atsushi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Henry Colt!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Atsushi throws a hook but Colt avoids it easily.
Colt lands a lovely overhand right.
Colt ducks under a wild hook from Atsushi.
Colt lands a jab to the nose.
Colt throws a sloppy head kick and Atsushi moves out of range easily.
Atsushi is looking to clinch.
Colt misses with a double jab.
Atsushi pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Kuroda Atsushi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A low kick from Atsushi misses
and Colt counters with a nice low kick that buckles Atsushi's knee momentarily.
Colt checks a leg kick.
Nice sprawl there from Colt as Atsushi shoots in.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Atsushi closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
We've been hearing reports that Atsushi has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Colt has a couple of punches blocked by Atsushi.

Atsushi buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Colt fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Atsushi checks it well.

Atsushi tries to clinch but Colt moves out of range.
Colt blocks the body kick.
Colt feints a counter leg kick.
Atsushi thuds his right hand into Colt's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Atsushi is looking to chop away at Colt's legs.
Colt checks the leg kick.
Colt doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Colt walks into a jab.
A nice inside leg kick there by Atsushi. That's going to slow Colt down.
Atsushi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Atsushi on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Colt tries to score with a low kick but Atsushi moves his leg out of the way.

Atsushi connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Colt momentarily.

Henry Colt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Atsushi misses with a low kick as Colt jumps back.
Colt avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Colt unleashes a big counter combination but Atsushi bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Colt misses with a shot to the body
and Atsushi counters with a nice uppercut.
Atsushi swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Atsushi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Colt swats him away and circles back towards the center.
A countering left hand to the body from Colt misses.
Colt throws a nice looking combination but Atsushi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Atsushi misses with a hook. Colt ducked under it nicely.
Atsushi uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Colt.

Atsushi gets a takedown into half guard.
Colt wants to get back to full guard.
Atsushi takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Colt gets full guard.
Atsushi trying to control but Colt is working from the bottom.
Atsushi pushes down on Colt's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Atsushi passes to full mount!
Colt reaches up to try and control the position but Atsushi seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Colt rolls and tries to escape and now Atsushi has his back!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Colt defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Atsushi's arms.
Atsushi trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Atsushi controlling well, preventing Colt from escaping the position.
Colt is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Colt just trying to survive but Atsushi is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Atsushi just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.

Atsushi patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kuroda Atsushi dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Colt throws a leg kick but Atsushi moved away.
Atsushi showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Colt.
Atsushi shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Atsushi misses with a hook.
Atsushi fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Colt has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
A telegraphed right hand from Colt misses the target.
Atsushi ducks under a wild hook from Colt.
Atsushi changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Colt fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Atsushi is out of range.
Colt avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
A little jabbing left from Colt on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Atsushi fakes the leg kick and cracks Colt in the body.
Colt connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Atsushi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Colt paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Atsushi misses with an uppercut.
Colt ducks right into an uppercut from Atsushi.

Atsushi swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Colt.
Atsushi swings and misses with a shot to the body
letting Colt counter with a right hand.

Atsushi scores with a takedown into Colt's guard.
Atsushi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Colt swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Atsushi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Colt can do to turn this around?

Atsushi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Atsushi trying to control the position from guard on top but Colt is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Atsushi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Atsushi slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Colt tries to control but Atsushi manages to take his back.

Atsushi is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Colt defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

An out of breath Kuroda Atsushi thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
